sawardee krabi! (ii)

woke up early on day 2 for our cosy breakfast in the balcony attached to our room! :)

every breakfast set came with toasts, croissants, pancakes, juice and coffee/tea!

definitely a good (and very filling) start to the busy day ahead. :)

right after breakfast,

we were picked up by the minivan for the first line-up of the day — water rafting!

the awesome view at the rafting place!

this is also where we did the flying fox.

speaking of the flying fox,

it was actually quite lame.

i think the entire experience took less than 10mins?

so UNscary i could even zipai on my way down. :p

then we changed into our swimming attire to ready ourselves for the rafting adventure.

here are some pictures taken with the girls in the same tour group before we got wet. :)

let the rafting begin!

again,

i must really thank my trusty waterproof pouch which has served me well,

allowing me to capture the precious moments on the way :D

how i think i look when i row:            how i really look like when i row:

(so 9gag haha!)

fellow raft-mates!

you must be wondering how did i manage to take so many photos while rafting?

that was because all these while,

i haven’t been rafting much!

this guy was doing all the work:

though i’m happy that i managed to camwhore so much throughout,

i wished i was the one having to do all the rafting so that it can be more exciting.

nevertheless,

i guess i still enjoyed myself quite a bit la.

lunch was next and after that,

we boarded the minivan to our next destination where we’ll complete the rest of the day tour.

this island safari place has EVERYTHING!

in here,

we rode on an elephant,

and fed it with bananas.

(ok, zikai looked more like he was feeding ME in this picture)

towards the end of the ride,

the elephant trainer weaved this cute necklace for all the girls which i though was really sweet!

we also tried fish spa there.

it was the second time in my life and i think it’s likely the last time too.

just check out zikai’s expression and you know how ‘shiok’ it was hurhur.

(my feet barely touched the water haha)

after the fish spa i was really looking forward to the atv ride.

but to my disappointment,

it wasn’t really what i’ve always imagined it to be.

we were basically riding through a rather flat terrain within a rubber tree plantation. -_-

and they were being very anal about us taking photos while riding,

so this was the only (decent) shot we managed.

as there was a lot of waiting time at island safari,

(we had to take turns for the atv rides, etc)

we zikai ended up playing with the monkey outside one of the attractions.

i guessed we must have spent a lot of time there because the bond between the two of them was so strong that the monkey refused to let go when we had to leave!

youre mine!”

HAHA.

it was quite a funny sight to see zikai wrestling with it for so long.

even the angmohs were amused. :P

alas,

we ended our day tour with an elephant show and a monkey show.

here’s the elephant fishing out the bananas hidden inside the guy’s pants heh.

and a fat-looking me + zikai with the elephant:

i looked so bloated!

and i’m shocked at how different i looked in the next picture.

just a change of angle and i look much skinnier!

i hope in real life i dun look like the previous photo. :(

we ended the long day with a delectable thai meal at the seafood restaurant along the main streets of ao nang.

tired + hungry looking us.

all the dishes were nice,

perhaps just a tad too salty.

after dinner,

it was just a relaxing tuktuk ride back to our hotel for a good rest,

to brace ourselves for the adventures-packed day 3! :)

sawardee krabi! (i)

for our annual overseas trip last year,

i badly wanted to go taiwan but the bf was unable to take too many days of leave so we decided to head to somewhere nearer instead.

after hearing + reading much about krabi,

we decided that it would be a good place to go to in december. :)

we thought we chose a good time to go (december; when rain is rather scarce) but  人算不如天算,

we both fell sick during this trip.

poor zikai was running a slight fever on the day of departure and the plane ride was quoted to be “the worst flight ever”.

i did my research and the cheapest way to get to Ao Nang (where our hotel is situated) would be to buy the coach tickets from one of the bus counters outside the arrival hall.

45mins bus journey and we reached our place of stay for the next 3 nights — Cha Wan Resort. :)

love the spacious bathroom!

and because zikai was too tired and weak to move,

i had to go out on my own to get medicine for him.

luckily,

he got a little better before sunset and we were able to head out to explore!

the streets of Ao Nang

the Ao Nang beach

the longtail boats that we didn’t managed to try. :(

 alongside Ao Nang streets,

one will be able to find many of such pancake stalls.

the pancake is a must-have for anyone who visits krabi!

our yummy-licious (and super sinful) nutella + condensed milk pancake!

even the sick could not resist.

another to-do of the day was to book the day tour for the next day.

after some price comparing,

we settled with this full day package.

 with this travel agency:

haha very honest indeed!

i think we got ourselves a good price ($73 per pax for the activities above) given the peak travelling period.

after settling the tour booking,

we had a simple bbq dinner at some roadside stall.

and we ended our first day with a rather meaningful activity — 放天灯!

i’ve always wanted to try 放-ing one but i didn’t get a chance to when i was in taiwan.

so can you imagine my excitement when i spotted people selling them along the road!

our wishes:

i just realised we are damn cheena!

most of our wishes are written in chinese omg. :P

may all our wishes come true!

that’s all for day 1!

shall continue with day 2 another day. :D
