:)

tanxinyi is a very very happy girl today.

30% a hypnotherapist

June 21, 2009

hello world!

having attended 3days of the 10day course, i’m officially 30% a hypnotherapist! :)

for the first time in my life, i tried hypnotising people and getting hypnotised!

in the past 3 days, my instructor will randomly pick any one of us to be the subject of his demostration in front of the whole class.

yesterday he made one of my classmate forget the number “6″.

today he made one of my classmate disregard any other sounds in the surrounding and only respond to his voice.

hopefully it’ll be my turn tomorrow! :D

p.s. Rozz from 98.7fm will be coming down on tuesday for treatment of her fear of lizards and hopefully i’ll be able to take some pictures to post here! :)

uhuhu!

June 14, 2009

farewell to the idea of wanting to franchise this cheesecake to singapore.

this freaking bakery is owned by Mahathir!

:(

shall just concentrate on being a good hynotherapist (if i ever get a chance to).

or should i join star search?

taiwan day II

June 11, 2009

a simple breakfast at the hotel cafe started off our day 2!

and today’s itenary would be visiting 九份 and 士林 :)

johnny english spotted in taiwan!

the (attempted) jumpshot that cost us NT100 each haha!

and this jumpshot also marked the start of our kena-cheated day :p

taiwan’s version of ez-link card coin:

and because 九份 was not along the mtr line,

we had to take a train down.

underground malls (equivalent to our citylink mall) are quite common over there.

and check out the interesting names of the handphones sold there:

i got bored because zhaoyuan kept talking to AHBOY on the phone:

when i saw this “train” approaching i thought it was our train so i started standing up and walking over.

but it turns out to be:

and this got to be the funniest station name i’ve seen.

and it’s even funnier hearing the announcer pronounce the english name of this station.

and after a short taxi ride up the hill,

we finally reached 九份 !

(i think the following pictures are of QQ standard! :D )

some interesting sights on the way:

(bottom left: drinks sold in XXL milk bottles and served in mini milk bottles!)

(bottom right: some ridiculous looking auntie selling sausages, there was even a tag on her that says “no extra charges for photos!”. cute!)

our simple, cheap, yet super yummy lunch!

(more QQ standard picturessss! :D )

this is a very cute snack we saw on the way!

the coil thing is actually potato,

sliced to the thickness of potato chips,

fried,

and served with the flavour powder of your choice!

you might not see clearly from the pictures, but the potato slices are actually joined together!

(think along the line of how we’ll slice an apple’s skin!)

yums!

see!

the mini milk bottles that comes with the drinks:

after which,

we illegally took a cab that wasn’t suppose to take 6 pax and the very nice taxi uncle took us to some of the other attractions nearby before sending us back to taipei.

not for free of course.

sorry peiyuan i had to post this up!

my mega waffle:

and we happened to spot some mermaids on the shore!

and for the next picture,

i must give the detailed story.

in the morning before we left for 九份 py and hx bought sim cards from this shop.

and though the stored value was only NT300,

they charged us NT990,

saying that the extra charges were administration fees blah blah.

and because we were rushing for time,

py and hx hastily paid and left.

and meanwhile since i wasn’t buying anything,

i started chatting with the shopkeeper (left of the picture).

i told her about our encounter at the mtr station this morning,

where we were coerced by 2 guys into buying some “designer” pens.

and she told me we got cheated as there’re plenty of such “designer students” around.

and before we left the shop,

she told me this:

“记得,不要再给台湾人骗了!”

i bet she was smiling inside when she said that because she was also cheating our money!

how ironic!

lucky py had problems activating her sim card thoughout the whole day,

so she called the telecom helpline,

where the operator told her that she was definitely cheated because there should be no extra charges whatsoever,

meaning a sim card with NT300 stored value should be sold at NT300 and nothing more.

ARGH!

how infuriating!

so we took a detour,

(we were heading towards 士林)

back to the shop to get our money back.

all thanks to py and june who are quite fierce and good and arguing,

the evil boss decided to give us full refund (although he still did not admit that he was wrong).

and to scare him further,

i decided to take a picture of his shop,

so i pretended to take a picture of zhaozhao:

(the guilty shopkeeper even looked away when i snap the picture!)

so after all that drama,

we finally got to 士林 night market!

and because i took too many photos in the day,

my battery was exhausted halfway through.

so no pictures of my favourite 鸡排 :(

and my loot for the second day:

and i must show you the most IN thing in taiwan that every girl must possess!

this little velcro strips (2 in a pack) keeps your fringe away from your face without spoiling the “shape” of your fringe!

(we all know how some hairbands will give your fringe a weird shape so this totally solves the problem! :) )

tata!

:)

(next up: 淡水 and 温泉 pictures!)

this IS so freaky

June 9, 2009

gives me the creeps whenever i look at this picture.

where did that extra hand on my back come from?

there was clearly no one on the left side of me.

(for the uninformed, i’m the one on the far left wearing a white top)

:(

i’m so freaked out.

omgosh. i’m still trembling from all the shock and excitement at the twist of events that have just occurred.

I’VE FOUND MY SD CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

less than 5 minutes earlier, i was in total depair thinking that i’ve lost my memory card (inside contains pictures of my camping trip, the koyak outing etc) because i’ve searched every possible place, and even some not so possible place.

i was so so certain that i’ve lost it i tell you. and i was only this close to breaking down because inside contains so many important photos that i have yet to back up and you know when you lose things like these it’s irreplaceable.

and when i was about to give up searching, a miracle happened.

the SD card dropped out of nowhere onto the floor.

i swear it dropped out of nowhere.

it was as if it fell from the sky.

i was so damn happy i tell you.

so damn happy i can just cry.

THANK GOD I FOUND YOU! I’LL NEVER LET YOU LEAVE MY SIDE AGAIN! :)

taiwan day I

June 5, 2009

yay finally started editing my taiwan pictures!

i took so many pictures that choosing and editing becomes such a chore!

nevertheless,

after 3hrs of perserverence,

i managed to finish day 1 and day 2!

so here we go!>>

after about 3 hrs of flight we arrived at the hk international airport for a transit flight to taoyuan international airport.

(fact: taipei DO NOT have an international airport. international flights all land in 桃园.)

and we coincidentally saw eugenia who was transiting at the same airport from korea! :)

and this was py’s reaction when she realised that she had to sit with her sis and her boyfriend for the flight:

we’re finally stepping on taiwan’s soil!

7-11s there are so common in taiwan you seem to able to spot one every 50 steps.

after settling down we walked to 西门町 for lunch/dinner.

the unforgettably yummy street snacks that i miss dearly :(

it’s a common sight to see such giap-ing machines along the streets of taiwan:

and for the first time in my life,

i ate…

and the famous 阿宗面线.

the interesting thing is that there’s nowhere for you to sit down and enjoy the noodles,

so people just stand around the walkway each holding a bowl of meesua.

omg i miss 凉圆 :(

and here’s my loot for the day! :)

day two coming up next!

one step forward!

June 2, 2009

i figured i’ve slacked enough since the day i had my last paper,

so i’ve finally decided to take a step (a rather BIG one!) forward in pursuing my future career!

that is to say,

i’m going for the hynotherapy course preview tomorrow in orchard!

and if i like it,

the real thing will start next week!

and if i manage to complete the course,

i’ll become a certified hynotherapist!

wish me luck wish me luck wish me luck!
