no more poker for me please! (i hope!)
February 27, 2009
i was such a loser last night!
told johnny (in a very determined tone) that i WILL NOT play a single round of poker until after my mid terms next week.
but i still did
anyways,
i have loads of overdue pictures in my comp waiting to be put into collages.
will update next week!
resume
February 12, 2009
today i wrote my first ever resume.
and all thanks to lester the resume man,
it expanded from a chui resume written entirely by myself,
into a “GODLIKE piece of masterpiece” (Lester, 2009).
…
thank you lester! i owe you a treat!
from xmas to chingay
February 7, 2009
woots!
my blog finally revived after being abandoned for 10000 million years!
this post’s gonna be (really + very) image heavy!
XMAS EVE 08

dinner at kenny rogers!

and some arcade action after that!

and as usual,
i’ll want to haolian my 投篮 skils,
so i decided to challenge chanzikai to a game of basketball:

and i totally thrashed him (i forgot to take a picture of my score but i was at least 3 times his..)!

then it was walking around suntec,

and chilling out at tcc after that.

stupid chanzikai refused to look into the camera every time.
in fact he was apparently bio-ing some chiobus in the bottom right picture..
argh.
XMAS 08
and on Christmas day itself,
i spent the day out with emily, xiu and johnny!

camwhoring in the car while waiting for the rest at the petrol kiosk :p
and we had late lunch at shokudo!

there were actually more pictures especially those taken in the arcade after we ate but i’m just too lazy to edit them heh!
BKK
my 3rd time in bangkok within a year!
at changi airport:

at the su-whatever-mi airport:

dc got richer so we upgrade from lousy asia hotel/baiyoke suite to:

the rooms are super clean and spacious i think everyone should stay there when they go bkk!
xiu’s luggage lock was faulty so she had to try all the possible combinations from 000 to 999!

but as usual,
violence is the solution to all problems.
and we managed to pry open the lock using a 5cents coin!
and on day 2:

check out the newest additions to the dc family!
meet (clockwise from the top) mickey, minnie and minna!

after a long tiring day of shopping we reward ourselves with dc’s favourite fuji restaurant:

on the 3rd day,
we decided to give ourselves a little break from the intensive shopping,
so we went on the observatory level of the hotel where they display some thailand-related exhibits!
for once we really look like tourists!

in case you can’t figure out what’s happening in the above picture,
we were trying to imitate an evil tutuk uncle (played by xiu) driving my wife (played by jiahui) away.

we discovered 2 really affordable caricature machines where one carves/lasers our sketches on a metal keychain and the other sketches our faces within minutes!

to xiu: i want my caricature sketch!
next,
we went up to the revolving roof deck on the 82nd floor!

the bottom right picture showing our legs is one of my personal favourite!
the 10000 shots we took while taking the lift down:

i don’t know how this started but we ended up taking alot of such flying shots when we were back in our rooms:

after resting enough,
we proceeded with part II of our slacking plan — to color our hair!
while waiting for the shuttle bus:

and at this random salon at MBK:

i guess this is how we’ll look like if we bald next time:

done! (except xiu who has the longest hair)

and this is part III of our slacking plan!

as we did our manicures until almost all the shops are closed,
we settled at a restaurant called the Nova Kitchen for some authentic thai food.
and trust me,
their tomyumgoong is a whack.
clearly the nicest i’ve ever tasted in my life!
oh and i love love love the coconut freeze drink (bottom picture) too!

day 4 was spent in chatuchak!

that gross mohawk actually kissed the tourist who was just trying to take a picture with him!
what the $@$!&@&^!(*@^$%@*&%!!!
(sorry i really have something against mohawks)

and some yummy (and uber cheap) street snacks:

the highlight of chatuchak market:

and the emo beagle at the bottom left picture is my favourite!
and as if we haven’t slacked enough the previous day,
the 3 of us went to play golf at the tee-off cafe in the hotel!
golf at the 20th floor! how cool is that!

to xiu: mama you really look like you’re playing hockey in that picture!

the tomyumgoong was supposed to be some award-winning dish but it’s still not as nice as the Nova Kitchen’s one.

final day,
final breakfast

the amount of baggage we had at the end of our trip!

and due to unforeseen complications we had at the customs,
we were eventually only left with 100baht!

my first time spending my birthday in the air!

22ND BIRTHDAY
after the big surprise at the airport,
i went back to my room and found even more surprises!

me and my 3 chosen presents:

the “nicest” birthday cake,

that came along with the sweetest birthday song
as we couldn’t go out at night as we both had lectures,
we went out for a birthday lunch at fish and co instead:

thank you chanzikai for making my birthday such a wonderful one!
CNY EVE 2009
some pictures from the reunion dinner:

and after midnight,
we went over to yichao’s place to surprise him on his birthday!
(which eventually led to a massive gambling session)

the highlight of the night — the recurrent doubles and the great discovery that saved yijie and his fellow banker friend.
CNY AT LINLAOSHI’S
what’s cny without a trip to beloved linlaoshi’s place?

linlaoshi’s xi nu ai le:

VERSUS
yichao’s:

see you again next year linlaoshi!
CHINGAY 2009

though tiring,
the chingay experience was a fantastic one.
one that will forever be etched in my memory.
during make-up:

see how tiring chingay can be?
(sorry 4k!)
some pictures of the other perfomers:

and in the midst of the crowd,
xun and i actually managed to find our husbands!

pictures of some of the nicer floats:

pictures of THE NICEST FLOAT:

and to thank weijie for his guidance through this entire chingay journey,
the c-block c-hingay dancers made a super nice pressie for him!

look at the gloating faces in the top right picture when i fell
some friends indeed.

thank you weijie and everyone else who were on this wonderful journey together with me!
——————————————————————————
wow! the longest post everrr!
i’m seriously the laziest person living.
lazy to study.
lazy to pack my room.
lazy to upload pictures.
lazy to blog.
…
anyways,
C-hingay is finally over! not entirely over for me though ’cause i signed up for the heartland show on 7th feb. and i couldnt be more glad to be part of the parade. all the efforts and time was definitely worth it.
shall post up the pictures soon (once i’m done with posting my xmas, new year, bkk trip, birthday, yada yada..)!
