BA-ed!
June 30, 2008
time really flies!
it’s been more than a month since i came back from batam.
and almost a month since i’m back from bali!
and since hubs’s blog has most of the batam pictures,
i shall not blog too much about batam.
here’re some of the nicer pictures from my cam:

on our way to breakfast!

playing in the sea..

spot the spelling mistakes! :p

a terrified baozhu after the banana boat ride

while the rest saw dolphins…

happy faces!

C!
check out chwan’s expression! :p
(click for a larger view!)

jumpshot at the jetty!

our favourite little hut

everyone! (:
————————————————————————————-
now for the bali trip!
DAY 1
(actually day 1 is still in batam la :p)

on the ferry

at nagoya hill shopping centre,
the exact same place i went to in my previous batam trip!

don’t be mistaken,
this place has nothing to do with a famous chocolate.
in fact,
it sells traditional indo food.

this indo dish is surprisingly very delicious!
it is actually egg yolk wrapped in fishcake with some kind of spicy black sauce.

series of shots taken when the chicken strips we ordered arrived.
the strips were so pathetically tiny we couldn’t stop laughing.
especially emily!

KTV!!

nasi padang dinner,
which soon turned into candlelight dinner due to blackout.

for info,
during that period of time where we were there,
batam had very frequent blackouts.
there were blackouts everywhere we went.
everywhere emily and i went, to be precise.
so we were otherwise known as the dai sai 二人组.
haha.

this was something interesting we saw on our way to the cinema.
oh ya!
we watched narnia at the cinema for only $2.50 sing!
the movie was damn nice and the seat was super spacious too!
really worth it.
singapore should price their movie tickets at $2.50 too.
DAY 2
the second day was spent mostly on travelling,
since we had to take 2 domestic flights in order to get to bali.

on our way to jakarta

always the first one to fall asleep. haha.

green tea beard papa puffs!
though we didn’t manage to eat the authentic ones with the green tea fillings,
the green tea powder made it nice enough!

emily looks ultra funny whenever she’s eating something big.
(don’t believe? wait till you see the picture when she ate corn)

playing daidee on the flight to bali

cute :: sexy
angry :: ugly

our first hotel in bali

DAY 3

a quick breakfast before water rafting

our rafting instructor

don’t you think he looks like the guy from power station?

at ubut

chilling out at cafe moca

magnificent view of the padi fields while having dinner

one of the most delicous meals i had in bali!
uber yummy!
DAY 3
3 of us woke up to watch the sunrise at the beach behind our hotel.
too bad there were too many clouds and the sun was covered

after which,
we went for breakfast and after that,
we headed to the beach for a short sun tanning session! (:

and at the beach we all got at least a tattoo each! (:
temporary ones of course!

lunch was at this place overlooking a lake.
if i’m not wrong,
the lake is bigger than singapore.

after lunch we travelled to this temple by the shore.
and on the way there,
i saw this:

a bakso seller!!!! (:

it was spa after that:

poor lady.
must be having a hard time washing emily’s big feet.
tsk.

dinner that night was thai food!
and after dinner,
we checked into our second hotel:

DAY 4
this is an exciting day!
we went diving for the first time in our lives!
but i only manage to take 2 pictures of us diving.
and they’re still inside my waterproof camera. :p
besides diving,
we tried this watersport called ‘flyfish’,
where u lie on this big float that will fly up like a kite!

when the float flies up!

us with the balancing guy

emily and johnny went on to jetski but i chose to skip that thinking that i can save the money to get another tattoo instead.
but the stubborn tattoo man refused to lower the price,
so in the end i wasted the half hour.:(
after wash-up,
we went on this glassbottom boat to a nearby island to visit the turtle farm.

ultra cute!

emily and one of the many crabs we saw (and tortured) on the way

the cute baby turtle!

the other bigger turtles at the farm
the owner of the farm told us that a couple of weeks ago they just released a turtle that was as big as a taxi back into the waters.
i wonder how true is that.
there were many other animals there at the farm:

lunch was yummy as usual (:

a postcard worthy shot of a random ship taken by yours truly!

our last dinner in bali ended with the most wonderful seaview and the nicest seafood i’ve ever tasted:

emily’s shot of the day!

see what i mean when i say emily’s got the funniest expression when she eats.
haha.
DAY 5
our last day in bali!
so we decided to have our breakfast in bed!

and before we have time to digest our breakfast,
we were “forced” to eat tim sum:

there were way too much food for us to finish,
so we decided to play this game where we would spin the food and we must eat whichever food that lands in front of our chopsticks.
and i’m super suay:

i think i kena at least 5times..
after lunch,
we headed for the airport straight.

with uncle musa (our driver for the past few days) at the airport

emily and i finally got to eat the green tea filling puffs!

see?
always the first to fall asleep.
haha!
.
.
.
we were lucky to have some time at batam before we board the ferry to have some nice indo dinner:

i’m so gonna miss the food there!

bye bye bali!
OH MY!
June 29, 2008
oh my oh my,
how unlucky can i get!
the mega batam + bali post that i was working on awhile ago just disappeared.
sorry emily,
guess i would have to take another 1000 years to type that entry out.
a lot of pictures you know!
story of the little girl
June 21, 2008
one day,
little girl was walking on the street on her own.
then something caught her eyes.
up in front of her,
a man was holding on to a huge bunch of balloons.
balloons of all shapes and colours,
and patterns she has never seen before in her life.
the man handed her the balloons,
and told her they can bring her to many places.
with the balloons in her little hand,
little girl slowly drifted away,
to the sea,
and there she saw the most beautiful sunrise she’s ever seen in her life.
she smiled.
she was so happy.
it’s been long since something so wonderful crossed her life.
she held the strings to the balloons tightly with both hands,
thinking that the balloons will never leave her if she held on tight enough.
but she was wrong.
one by one,
the pretty balloons started to deflate.
it was then she realised,
the knots on the balloons weren’t even tight enough.
frantic,
little girl tried her best to save the balloons
but no matter how hard she tried to grab the strings,
not a single balloon remain.
thump.
she fell to the ground.
no more balloons for me,
she thought to herself.
i don’t trust balloons anymore.
copycat
June 15, 2008
i’m a big copy cat!
saw this song on someone’s blog and i love it!
(i think it’s ’cause of the lyrics)
so i decided to copy her and post it on my blog too (:
