tragedies

April 30, 2008

things have been rather tragic recently. :(

Tragedy #1: Bruised

i’ve got the biggest orh ceh in the world,

for being overly-excited over alvin ng’s joke.

and the worse thing is,

it doesn’t seem to get any better as the days go by.

:(

Tragedy #2: Bye Bye Heide

Heide bidded farewell to me last evening.

it got into some serious accident and died.

RIP Heide.

i’ll miss the shorter you.

:(

Tragedy #3: Broken Spectacles

my lousy new specs broke one day while i was trying to wipe them.

now i’ve got to rely on my 4-year-old specs to survive my last few days in hall.

Tragedy #4: 5 MORE TO GO!

this is probably the biggest tragedy of all.

my exams have not started at all.

that means i have 5 more exams before i can relax.

that also means that i have 10 more hours of exams before i can throw away my books and sleep.

sigh.

i hate this!

especially when all your friends and neighbours have cleared at least a module or two (or even three).

the different genres

April 25, 2008

have decided to categorise my entries according to music genres.

Pop entries are the happy ones or any exciting happenings around me.

Ballads mean that i’m upset or not feeling well.

Rock entries are for me to vent my frustrations when i’m 不爽.

Jazz would just be AOB.

yay.

okay, back to my books.

BOMB

April 25, 2008

1 dress from missy pixie.

.kaboom.

3 bags from japan and taiwan bag sprees.

.kaboom.

1 pair of opaque stockings.

.kaboom.

countless daidee games in alvin chong’s room.

.kaboom.

4 intended overseas trips after exams.

.KABOOM.

.

.

.

all these are going to cost a bomb.

but i’m still going ahead with it!

(maybe excluding the daidee games. haha.)

by the way,

this entry WAS specially locked for faith!

(’cause she love cracking the password :) )

but it’s now unlocked ’cause she got it!

good job faith!

mysteries solved!

April 20, 2008

all thanks to jiahui,

the great detective,

(and she also happened to be the only one who manage to crack my password!)

迷底全都解开了!

haha.

so the hair-raising encounter i had outside on the way from biz to central forum wasn’t anything eerie.

i didn’t run into any hantus.

the digits don’t show the number of days i have left.

(thanks to emily for this chilling interpretation that creeps me like mad)

MYSTERY #1:

原来 the digits represent the time.

and it activates everytime i press and hold the “set” button.

i didn’t know my camera had such a function!

(after taking pictures with it for at least 2 years)

scare me loh.

i really thought i ran into something dirty.

_____________________________________________________________

so last night was spent in soc mugging again,

this time with brendon, jiahui and alvin only.

as usual,

when the night gets darker,

and we got “higher”,

we started doing silly stuff again.

1) jiahui and i took like 10000 pictures with our cameras

here’s just a small fraction of all the pictures we took:

2) brendon went crazy and started tossing twisties at us

(look at that flying twisties!)

3) the see-whose-slippers-fly-the-furthest game!

hope the soc people won’t come after us for hitting their ceiling with our slippers!

4) waiting for brendon

yes.

we waited for him for almost an hour.

that’s considered silly.

“where’s brendon?”

“no idea!”

at first we still thought that he went to dabao breakfast for us.

so we waited.

and waited.

until we both fell asleep.

MYSTERY #2:

SO WHERE IS BRENDON??

we searched high and low for him,

i even went to his car to see if he’s sleeping inside there.

but we really couldn’t find him.

just when we were about to give up and walk back to KR ourselves,

we found him sleeping on one of the soc benches outside.

!!!

气死我们了!

(’cause we were really hungry and were expecting breakfast)

ahhh.

-the end-

by the way,

(on a very random note)

1) i drove on my own for the first time last night! (thank you brendon!)

2) 黄金路 is ultra nice (okay i know i’m very out-dated)

everyone should go and watch it!

:)

raise the white flag

April 17, 2008

alas,

my body surrenders to my atrocious behaviour.

the rendezvous at soc every single night.

(you can ask laura and janice about it)

the consecutive nights i’ve been awake.

the consecutive days i’ve been sleeping.

the suppers i eat in the morning before i go to bed,

the breakfasts that greet me at 6pm every day.

the weekends that zoomed pass in a flash,

as i lay unconscious at home.

the countless times i meet neighbours going to classes in the morning,

while i go to bed.

my tummy cried objection today.

:(

who will be the next?

Cognitive Dissonance: A drive or feeling of discomfort, defined as being caused by performing an action that is discrepant from one’s customary, (typically positive) self-conception.

my cognition: i need to slim down.

my action: i just ordered mac spicy burger.

result: cognitive dissonance.

.

.

.

i’m typing all these ’cause jiahui just asked me to update.

:)

the big hoohaa

April 15, 2008

i just won $3.60 in daidee!

(thank you alvin chong!)

not as if it’s a very big deal.

not as if it’s something really worth celebrating or announcing.

not as if i still have a lot of time left till my exams start.

but this is one of the few little things that brighten up my days.

even though it might just be for a short while.

i want to be like 笑姑.

流星花园

April 14, 2008

every bit of cheryl wee’s 21st party on saturday felt like 流星花园.

her house, the decor, the food, her gowns, her parents,

and most importantly,

HER PRESENT FROM HER PARENTS.

well,

let me show you the episodes from the very beginning:

emily, sweeyong and i arrived at her house in a taxi.

it really wasn’t hard locating it ’cause her house’s so huge one can see it from 2km away.

the first thing we saw:

<Episode #1> a nicely decorated arch made up of pink balloons.

we walked through it and caught a glimpse of the house <Episode #2>:

WOW.

think it’s the biggest house i’ve ever been to in my life.

felt so suaku.

the house is so huge i can’t even properly capture it in a single photograph.

then,

after all the wow-ing and gasping,

we settled down for the food.

<Episode #3> free flow of high class (well at least to me) food like macaroons.

i regret not taking more pictures of the food.

guess i was too busy eating and looking at:

<Episode #4> ZOE TAY!

she was the only celebrity we saw there.

and i still remember telling emily before the party that if i see zoe tay there i’ll definitely go take picture with her.

i was so lucky!

hee.

after that, we walked to the poolside and we saw this:

<Episode #5> you don’t have to put ice into your alcohol to chill it, you put your alcohol into the ice instead.

while the emcee were engaging the audience with some funny dressing up show,

the princess of the night made her grand entrance <Episode #6>,

in her astonishing pink gown.

it wasn’t just any normal evening gown,

it was close to something like this (if not more elaborate):

coupled with dry ice and little girls dressed in pink following closely behind,

it certainly looked more like her wedding.

after which,

she went on to cut her castle birthday cake,

and was told to make a wish.

by then,

all of us were so spellbound by everything,

we started making predictions on what’s going to happen next.

i said there might be snow.

emily said there might be fireworks.

lionel said the stone birds on the water fountain would fly away.

when we were still in the midst of laughing,

something drove in.

<Episode #7> A BRAND NEW MERCEDES-BENZ SLK!

omgosh.

and lionel took back his words about the stone birds flying away.

it was nothing compared to the car.

and to top it off,

the chairman of cycle and carriage was there to present her with the car keys.

amazing right?

haha.

when the party ended,

a few of us took the opportunity to tour the house mansion.

filled with rooms and flowers,

it was one of the most beautiful house mansion i’ve been to.

some pictures we took:

van :: me

emily :: ivy

at the end of the whole thing,

we all felt like we were 杉菜s in 流星花园.
